The Northerners Extension Club hosted a Senior Citizens Program at R-3 School with a fall themed basket dinner. Mexico and Centralia students from Shirley's School of Dance performed tap, ballet, and acrobatics assisted by student teachers Jill Kalkofen and Krista Davenport among others. Guests included Mrs. Elmer Gatewood and Carl Weinand Sr., the longest married couple Mr. and Mrs. Lee Eckley, and the most grandchildren Mr. and Mrs. Clem Little and Mrs. George Phillips, plus local residents.

The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary held an initiation for Martha Bennett and Lelia Smith. Mrs. Harold Murray Sr. gave the opening prayer. Plans were finalized for a November 4 bazaar at 9 a.m. in Audram County Court House community room. Mrs. LeRoy Harrison won best Halloween costume. George Lipscomb gave the legislative report. The next meeting is November 22 at 6:30 p.m. with a carry-in supper. Bud Myers will speak. A social followed with refreshments by Mrs. Bennett.
