Secretary James C. Kirkpatrick announced a three to four year half million dollar project with the Genealogical Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to microfilm Missouri records. Copies will be provided at no charge and the original microfilm will be stored in a granite vault in the Rocky Mountains. The effort covers vital, land, wills, court, deeds, mortgages, licenses, and naturalization records.
