Princeton AP Gallup poll shows 54 percent favor Democratic congressional candidates 35 percent back Republicans in August and September interviews. Voters cite Democrats as better at inflation control. two thirds expect worsening economy. 39 percent say Democrats handle inflation best, 18 percent back Republicans, 30 percent see no difference, 13 percent undecided.

Audrain County was named among the top 12 in dollars raised per capita in the 1974 Missouri cancer crusade. At the Missouri Division annual meeting in Jefferson City the county reported 59.3 cents per capita, the highest to date, with total funds of $15,036 raised. Ron Holbrook accepted the per capita award for Audrain amid praise from Rex Johnson, while Nodaway County posted the largest percentage gain and Smithville led per capita totals in the state.

He reported more than 1,000 women have been examined and over 5,000 more booked for next year. the clinic targets women aged 35 to 75 and serves only detection, not treatment.
