Democrats for Nixon attack McGovern defense plan

A report by a Democratic group backing Nixon labels McGovern defense proposals as riddled with errors and dubious assumptions. It argues a 30 billion dollar cut would cost about 2.1 million defense related jobs and ignores political costs of cuts in Europe and the Middle East while warning of weakened Israel support. Theberge, ex State Department officer, led the effort, though copies show the Nixon label crossed out, as the endorsing group was still winding up.
