Employer Work Comp Payments Will Increase
Missouri unemployment insurance taxes will rise next year as trigger mechanisms raise employer assessments to fund the unemployment compensation program. Department director Geoffrey McCarron cited higher unemployment and increased benefits, signaling a 70 percent hike with a potential $10 million to $20 million revenue shortfall in 1976. Benefits rose sharply from 1973 to 1974, and new rates begin in April, with possible federal borrowing to cover cash flow.

CIA Group Planned Executive Action Including Assassination
CIA records show in the early 1960s a small executive action group developed plans to remove foreign leaders by methods including assassination. The group, led by William K Harvey, reportedly lasted two to three years and ended around 1963, with unclear Kennedy administration awareness. The matter ties to broader questions about CIA plots against Fidel Castro and remains separate from the 1981 Castro poisoning rumors.
