Audrain Families oppose bypass route through prime farm land
Audrain families east of Mexico object to a proposed broad Highway bypass that would sever farm land. They met Missouri Chief Highway Engineer Robert Hunter, arranged by Vic Gray, arguing 35 acres per mile of right of way would be taken. A public hearing will follow an environmental study in about three months. The group favors the second alternate rejoining US 54 inside Mexico.
