Energy Plan Gains Broad Support From Residents
Most residents back President Nixon energy saving proposals and plan voluntary compliance though some doubt speed limits and expect stronger action. Many report home heating reductions, with thermostats lowered to 68 to 70 degrees and some rooms shut off. Trooper Hedrick questions enforcement at 50 mph while noting state 60 mph limit for official vehicles and potential federal action.
