NorCal Thunderbirds Name New Coach Clifford Weith
NorCal Thunderbirds pick Clifford Weith to lead NorCal High. He comes from Hermann and has helped win 22 straight there. Weith says last year’s 26 game streak at North Callaway sets a high bar but 1973 74 schedule brings tougher tests with Lewis and Clark conference foes and nonconference opponents like Montgomery County and Helias. He notes depth will be tight as football players finish seasons and emphasizes controlled fast breaks and a mix of man to man and zone defense. Returning players Mike Love and Tony Fugate pace a small but athletic roster with Duncan Barks Fred Tate and others vying for starting spots.
