Adequate electric supplies cited by MPL president
Adequate electric supplies are available for Missouri Power and Light Co. customers, MPL president David C. Harrison said today. He notes generation comes mainly from coal with little from gas, oil, or water, and warns of a serious natural gas and petroleum shortage urging conservation and wise-use policies. The statement accompanies MPL efforts to guide customers on energy saving and to request thermostat reductions to curb consumption amid uneven energy availability nationwide. The release ends with a related note on a Senate roll call approving a one year national energy emergency.
