Full Eclipse Of Moon Viewed
Weather permitting a full lunar eclipse was visible across much of the United States east of a line from Louisiana to Indiana. The Naval Observatory noted viewing was poorer at its own site. The eclipsed moon appeared reddish from Earth's atmosphere and sunlight. The next lunar eclipse is slated for November 1979 and will be visible in the western United States.
