The Mexico Optimist Club plans to assist the Chamber of Commerce with downtown Christmas decorations this Sunday. Members meet at the courthouse at 1 p.m. Equipment chairman Gene Zeigler urged members to return club gear for storage and inventory.

Accidental gunfire injures Paris man in Mexico clinic
Paris Victor Wade 30 of Route 1 Paris was admitted in satisfactory condition to Audrin Medical Center Mexico after a 357 magnum discharged when it fell from his holster at his Wade home. Sheriff officers reported the incident occurred Friday afternoon leaving him with a wound to the left forearm.

Scholarships were awarded by Peggy Sterner and Audrain Registered Nurses Association, with remarks by Donald Palmer and Woodrow Lee. Caps were presented to 23 students, and a reception followed hosted by the Mexico Chapter of Licensed Practical Nurses.

Arnall died early Friday at Audrain Medical Center. Born Sept 17 1896 in Montgomery County he was the son of James and Parmelia Brown Arnall. He married Clara Mae Bunch in 1918. A resident of Mexico since 1928 he was a retired A P Green Refractories Co employe. He was a deacon and usher at First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife a daughter Melba Crews of House Springs a son Frank E Arnall Jr of Texarkana eight grandchildren two great grandchildren and three nieces and two nephews.
