House Flies See Better Than Humans in Some Ways
Pasadena Calif AP a scientist says house flies can see better in some ways than humans and have a nervous system as complex as a $500000 computer. They detect colors including ultraviolet and polarized light and can sense slower motions such as a clock hour hand. The finding aims to understand nervous systems across creatures. The fly’s acuity is not useful to humans and the insect cannot be trained beyond elementary tasks.
