Kingman Sets Price Tag High For Free Agency
AP Special Correspondent Will Grimsley reports baseball star Dave Kingman, 29, seeks about 1.5 million with 40 to 60 home run potential, arguing his worth after evaluating parks in the American and National Leagues. Teams eyed include Boston, Detroit, Toronto, California Angels, and San Diego Padres, while the New York Yankees failed to reach a deal before the deadline. Kingman says he preferred the Pacific Coast and felt at home with the Yankees, though negotiations ended.
