Mexico Runners Top District Field Again
Mexico Bulldog runners dominated the district meet despite rain and mud, earning their second consecutive district title. Freshman Dan Marley led with 13:42 for 2½ miles, while Keith Bartels, Danny Hexworth, and Joel Love boosted lower placings. Seven Bulldogs qualified for the state meet at Jefferson City, as coach Ron Whittaker praised the underclassmen’s aggressive, cohesive team effort. Fulton finished second, and Rock Bridge fifth, in a 71-runner field.
