COLUMBIA, Mo. AP Last week’s heavy rains left soil moisture adequate to surplus and left farmers with two days for field work. Corn planting reached 74 percent finished, above the 54 percent normal for the period. Cotton 79 percent planted, sorghum 29 percent, soybeans 15 percent. Winter wheat headed 74 percent, about half last week.
