Cambodia bombing vote delayed amid Paris talks
In Washington, Senate leaders push to delay a vote on a supplemental funding bill that would cut off U S bombing in Cambodia and Laos until after Memorial Day. Republican Leader Scott says Paris talks with Le Duc Tho should proceed without a Senate action, while Democratic Leader Mansfield notes the delay may also stall action on the State Department authorization bill. The House voted to urge legislation banning U S hostilities in Southeast Asia without congressional approval. President Nixon accuses Congress of moves that could undermine peace negotiations.
