Levy Hikes Fail in Southern Missouri Districts
In Mountain Grove R-3 and South Harrison districts voters rejected proposed levy increases. Mountain Grove declined a 2.0 cent hike raising the levy to 4.08 per 100, with 564 yes 596 no. Bethany turnout rejected a 30 cent hike to 4.20 per 100, 643 yes 9? against.

Stephens College Wins Solar Heating Grant in Missouri
Stephens College in Columbia received a $93,457 federal grant from the U S Energy and Research and Development Administration to fund a solar heated visitors center. The four story building will house admissions offices faculty lounge and guest rooms with a south facing 50 degree roof and copper tubing heat transfer to a 5 000 gallon water tank.

Billie Sol Estes Remains Under Parole Restrictions
Billie Sol Estes, convicted in 1963 of mail fraud in a fertilizer bank scheme, has been denied termination of parole and its restrictions. The regional parole official and three national board members ruled, with appeal to the full Federal Board of Paroles available. Estes remains barred from self employment and sales activities until parole ends in 1980.
