Carter seeks $2 billion oil revenue hike for Alaska North Slope
Washington AP Carter administration proposes allowing oil producers on Alaska North Slope to boost revenues by 2 billion over four years by raising government controlled prices to add $2 per barrel for Alaskan oil. The plan aims to keep Alaskan prices below world levels while denying direct foreign oil purchases by U.S. firms. The House committee advanced a separate measure creating a Public Energy Administration in a new Energy Department.
