NEW YORK AP A scholarship fund in the name of Hal Boyle AP Pulitzer Prize winning columnist and war correspondent has been created by the University of Missouri. The fund aims to reach 40 000 for a fully paid journalism scholarship in Boyle's name in perpetuity. Boyle graduated from MU in 1932 with a journalism degree and joined AP in 1926 rising to war correspondent in 1942. He won the 1945 Pulitzer for distinguished correspondence and announced in February he would cut back his columns due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis known as Lou Gehrigs disease.
