Rolla policemen sue over libel charges
Three Rolla police officers filed a 60600 libel suit in Phelps County Circuit Court against Ray Noakes who spoke for residents accusing officers of misconduct. The suit targets perjury intimidation theft brutality and other acts with most complaints aimed at Detective Daryl Davis. The officers say they faced public ridicule and embarrassment from the statement read at a City Council committee meeting.

Tax Phones Are Busiest on Mondays
ST. LOUIS IRS toll free lines peak on Mondays and 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. other days as Richard C. Voskuil notes. Taxpayer centers in St. Louis and Kansas City have logged over 250000 calls since January 1, up 28 percent from last season, with more than 55000 Missourians visiting IRS offices for assistance. Enhanced staff aim to manage the surge and taxpayers are advised to call on days other than Monday.
