Miss Roberts and Kenneth Smith wed in Centralia
Miss Cynthia Anne Roberts daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry T Roberts of Centralia and Kenneth Ray Smith son of Mr and Mrs Bert Smith Jr of Thompson were married February 14 at 7 PM at Parkview Christian Church Centralia. The ceremony featured a candlelight double ring service, with a watermelon colored gown matching gowns of attendants, a white Bible bouquet, and a unity candle. The couple resides on Route 2 Thompson after MFA Columbia placement for the bride and farming for the groom. The wedding attracted 250 guests and included music by an organist and pianist with a reception in the church dining hall.

Interested Young Women Plan Rummage Sale
Mrs. John Reddick spoke to the Interested Young Women's Club at its March 2 meeting on using sheets for decorating the home. A rummage sale will be held April 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 726 Yale St. Home-made items and club donations will fill the sale. The group plans a Governor's Mansion visit in Jefferson City and a May 4 night out at The Stable in Fulton. Door prizes went to several members and guests attended the meeting.

United Methodists Organize Rural Fellowship Chapter in Missouri East
In Montgomery City the Missouri East United Methodist Rural Fellowship formed a new chapter with a charter meeting at the Montgomery City Methodist-Presbyterian Church on February 21. Four directors were elected including Walter Coldicott and Sylvester Nothdurst, with officers later installed for the Missouri East unit.
