VICA to send nine to state contest at Point Lookout
Nine Area Technical School students earned one ratings at district VICA contests held at North County Technical School in St. Louis and will represent the district at the state VICA competition April 25-26 at the School of the Ozarks Point Lookout. Representing districts besides the top winners are Sharon Zuroweste Cindy Chaney and Delmer Fisher with leadership and skill test successes across drafting nursing and other shop categories.

Three MHS Girls Named for Curator's Freshman Scholars
Three Missouri high school seniors Robyn Beamer Marilyn Maupin and Teresa Rent schler have been named University of Missouri Curators Freshmen Scholars. The awards honor high school academic work and waive incidental fees for the freshman year at any MU campus Columbia Kansas City Rolla or St Louis with renewal possible if GPA stays in the top five percent. The program seeks to encourage continued University study in Missouri.

Changes Made In Selection Of Mexico High Cheerleaders
The Mexico High School Pep Club member interested in cheerleading for 1975‑70 should attend Wednesday practices from 7 30 to 8 15 a m. Six varsity football cheerleaders four varsity boys basketball four junior varsity girls basketball cheerleaders will be named. Wrestling tryouts are March 26 with announcements of new cheerleaders on March 27 at 8 00. A Bulldog Spirit senior mascot, Pep Club for one year, learns chants but does not perform routines. National Library Week events at MHS include a bookmark contest from March 27 to April 9. Winners announced April 15 with prizes of four paperbacks. Entries shown in themes promoting books libraries events or places with varied media. Judges evaluate originality creativity practicality and neatness. Also NM National Honor Society Mexico Chapter prepares for 50th anniversary April 20.
