Land Fraud Bill Clears Missouri House Narrowly

Missouri House approves the Land Sales Act to protect buyers with 82 votes, sending it to the Senate. The measure would require 150 in state developers and 50 out of state to register recreational projects of 50 lots or more with the Department of Natural Resources, post bonds, and renew licenses for compliance. Cape Girardeau Democrat Sen. Albert Spradling seeks stronger Healing Arts Board powers to reexamine and suspend or revoke physician licenses amid malpractice hearings. Senate considers related malpractice bills, including a shortened statute of limitations for minors and a proposed screening panel for claims. In Washington, a roll call shows 229 to 139 supporting a foreign aid amendment, while a Senate vote (47-46) tabled a resolution affecting Sen. Bellmon’s seat, leading to Bellmon’s seating.
