No Jail Visits Then Due To Disturbances At Audrain
Disturbances at Audrain County jail on February 21 led to a two week ban on visiting for all five prisoners. Deputy Russell Wilkes said the 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday visiting hour may resume next week. Restrictions aim to deter contraband and ensure tighter visitor supervision. The jail, which provides meals and no corporal punishment, had no max security cells or solitary confinement. The bar was disclosed after Mrs. Walter Roberts of Centralia complained about visiting her son Carl, jailed for six months after a parole breach. He shared a cell with Dale Manning and Sammy Manning.
