Reward Fund Created To Nab Hijackers
The Civil Aeronautics Board approved a pilot program for rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of hijackers and extortionists. An initial $250,000 fund will be contributed by five airlines American Eastern Pan American Trans World United. The Air Transport Association will administer the fund and set award amounts, with the scheme running through March 15, 1974.

Irish Death Toll Rises To 367
BELFAST AP three more civilians and another British soldier were killed in Northern Ireland Sunday raising the death toll to 367 in three years of violence. Two civilian deaths occurred in a five hour gun battle between British forces and rival Catholic and Protestant factions around the Ardoyne district in Belfast.

Cadet Patrol Academy Draws 56 Missouri Youths
Harold A. Denham of Mexico joins 56 young men from across Missouri for the second annual Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy from June 2 to June 30 at the Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City. Sponsored by the American Legion Missouri Department with the Patrol, the program trains 16 to 18 year olds through demonstrations of police skills, self defense, weapons firing, and classroom law enforcement instruction.
