Missouri State Park System Offers Adventure and History
The Missouri State Park system includes 56 sites with scenic, recreational, and historic value drawing nearly 14 million visitors. Highlights include Bennett Spring, Montauk, and Roaring River fishing areas, Sam A. Baker State Park for fishing and hiking, Lake of the Ozarks State Park as the largest, and several Corps reservoirs with marinas and rentals. Petroglyphs at Washington and Thousand Hills reveal early history, while the First Missouri State Capitol in St. Charles recreates statehood era from 1821 to 1926.
