Big Truck Measure Stalled in Missouri House

The so called big truck bill remains stalled in a House committee with one week left in the session. Chairman Jay Trussell has not acted on the Senate passed measure to raise truck weights to 40 000 pounds and lengths to 60 feet. Rep. William Fickle says he was promised a vote but it did not occur. Supporters claim rail savings and lower transport costs, while opponents warn of safety risks and bridge damage.
