Corn and soybeans will be estimated in July, with spring wheat projection around 454 million bushels.

Missouri Wheat Off 33 Percent

Missouri's wheat production for June 1 is forecast at 24.32 million bushels, down over two million from May. The drop, 33 percent from 1972, stems from 28 percent lower acreage and 28 percent reduced yield, with an indicated yield of 32.0 bushels per acre. Excessive rain hurt yields and about a third of the crop is turning color. last year at this time three fourths were turning color and mostly in good condition.
