Edith Mage Bailey and Tommy McTlhatton married in a Saturday double ring ceremony at Lockewood Park Baptist Church. The service began at 10 o'clock with the pastor officiating.
The Laf a-Lot Extension Club met with ten members, hosted by Mrs. James Doyle, with a program by Mrs. William Little stressing first impressions and grooming. A successful white elephant auction funded club projects. A June 18 carry-in picnic is planned. The wedding of Miss Bailey to Mr Mellihatton featured a lace gown, seed pearl crown, yellow and white bouquet, and a reception in Rush Hill. The couple plans to live in Mexico, where he works for Kaiser Refractories.
Mexico area retirees host an annual spring luncheon at Heritage House in Columbia with a 11 30 a m meetup at the Presbyterian Church for transport. James Bledsoe Post American Legion plans a 7 30 p m meeting at Legion Home on June 6. Wellsville brides to be are honored at a shower for Miss Cleta Hawkins, and wedding plans for Miss Janis Kossmann and Gary Rahmeyer are finalized for June 23 at Centennial Baptist Church with detailed bridal party roles and a reception hosted by the Ballingers. A Wellsville wedding shower honors Miss Marilyn Poeppelmeyer with hostesses Mrs Harold Todd and Mrs Obie Letterman at the bride's home. Attendants include Miss Yelton and Miss Janice Todd. Guests include Mrs William Poeppelmeyer and others. cake decorated in green and white. The couple plans a Wellsville Presbyterian ceremony after Miss Poeppelmeyer’s master’s degree completion.
Fifty year ago McMillan High School graduates plan a two day reunion with a 1:30 p.m. bus tour of the city of Mexico and a 7 p.m. banquet at the Monterey Restaurant. Sunday events include a 9 a.m. gathering at the Empire Club of A P Green Refractories Co with prizes and lunch. attendees from Missouri, Texas, Arizona, California, Maine and Colorado are listed. The informal program will be led by Everett W. Torreyson.
