State Says Tate Motive Bizarre in Murder Trial
The state says it knows why Sharon Tate and six others were slain last August and that the motive is more bizarre than the killings. Linda Kasabian, 21, expected to testify for immunity and take the stand soon as part of the murder conspiracy case against four defendants led by Charles Manson. The trial could run three to six months with many witnesses, while Kasabian testifies for three to five days. Separately she faces murder conspiracy but will have a separate trial. HOLLYWOOD AP Actress Patty Duke 23 says she is divorcing her husband Michael Tell 25 Las Vegas promoter of rock music concerts announced through a spokesman. Duke had married Tell June 24 and said they planned to stay together forever. Duke won an Academy Award in 1962 for The Miracle Worker and an Emmy last month for My Sweet Charlie. She was previously divorced March 3 from first husband Harry Falk after a four-year marriage.
