Oil Price and Energy Bills Move Fatally Through Senate
The Senate advanced energy measures as oil prices rise, with a forecasted two cent hike pushing regular gas to about 61.2 cents per gallon. A vetoed energy bill would roll back new oil from over $12 to 11.28 a barrel, while a $300 million annual coastal planning bill clears the Senate. Canada plans to cut natural gas exports to the U S to ease winter shortages, with oil exports already reduced and slated to end by 1982.
