MU Curator Smith Speaks At Centralia Kiwanis Meeting
Centralia Missouri MU Curator Smith PleSold as President Pleasant R. Smith of Mexico spoke at the Centralia Kiwanis noon meeting invited by program chairman William Reinhardt. Club President Robert Tanner announced a new member Harry Young and nominated Roy Goodheart to finish Jerry Waisner’s term. Mediodia BPW Club met July 10 at Village Inn with Margaret Doty presiding and appointed committees for the Sherwood Nursing Home project and the District TV North Conference on September 20. Reapers Class of First Baptist met at Mrs Quentin Thompson’s home and will dine out August 11. Guests at Mrs Clema Palmer’s home included Margaret Carter of Mexico and Jewell Blake of Centralia.

Air Force allows shorter skirts for select WAFs
Washington AP reports Col. Jeanne Holm head of Women of the Air Force drafted an order permitting WAFs with appropriate configuration to wear skirts two inches above the knee. She says skirts should normally sit at the knee top or not more than an inch above, with fashion and taste guiding the uniform while preserving dignity.

Old Threshers Show To Open At Paris Fair Grounds
Paris Rotary sponsors a two day Mark Twain Old Threshers event July 18 and 19 at the Paris Fair Grounds with free admission.
