Massive theft drains California armory of 100 weapons
Police and FBI probe a high‑level burglary at a Compton California Army National Guard armory. More than 100 weapons and thousands of rounds were stolen in a professional, highly coordinated job raising fears of insider access and possible terrorists involvement. Items stolen include 96 M16 rifles, seven M60 guns, eight M79 launchers, a .45 pistol, 156 bayonets, thousands of rounds, 40 grenades and 75 gas masks. Estimated loss 22 thousand dollars plus. Investigators note missing firing pins and bolt assemblies stored 200 miles away at Camp Roberts would need replacement for operability.

Defector Hoxsey Seeks Return to United States
