Revisions on ADC laws dominate Missouri committees
In Jefferson City both House and Senate committees debated ADC revisions aimed at forcing delinquent fathers to repay past due child support and restructuring payments. Other actions included a pension boost for the blind, higher Missouri State Fair admission, bootleg music crackdowns, and require dealer notice before contract cancellation. Senate panels postponed cost comparisons for school funding reforms. Gov. Bond backs Mr Bradshaw’s ADC pay restructuring. Nashville musicians urged stronger protections against bootleg tapes.

US Checking On Mexican Jail Complaints
The State Department says it substantiated nearly 250 complaints by Americans who say they were mistreated denied access to officials or subjected to abuse in Mexican jails. It found about 400 cases inconclusive and around 130 unsubstantiated after a study by a special panel led by the Bureau of Security and Consular Affairs. The inquiry followed congressional pressure over embassy inaction amid reports about young Americans held on drug charges.
