Editorial cartoon targets Church and CIA probes
A cartoon shows Sen Frank Church riding a wrecking ball labeled defense of the nation, criticizing Senate and House probes into CIA and FBI for political leverage. It argues intelligence work needs caution, condemns leaks and sensationalism, and notes Church’s presidential ambitions while dismissing the investigations as misused for publicity and political gain. The piece ends by condemning violence as a harmful price to pay for headlines.
