Hearnes Denies Danforth Governor Run Deal
Missouri Governor Warren Hearnes rejected claims of any pact to end the two term limit to aid John Danforth run for governor in 1971. He said discussions with Wayne Millsap touched Danforth's future but no deals were made. Hearnes plans to practice law after his term ends in 1973 and defended the idea of voters choosing their candidate.
