Poertner Joins Wetterau Foods Board in St Louis
Clinton H Poertner has been elected to the Wetterau Foods Inc board of directors of St Louis as announced by Oliver G Wetterau and Ted C Wetterau after a board meeting. Poertner retired last year as VP and director of corporate planning after 50 years with the company. The board also declared a quarterly dividend of 11 cents per share payable March 31 to stockholders of record March 15.

Kaiser Refractories will shut its 11 year old 3 million per year periclase plant in Midland California. The facility employed 25 workers and produced granular periclase magnesium for furnace linings and cement kiln hot zones among other uses.
