Six MHS wrestlers head to regional in Springfield MO
Six MHS grapplers earned second at district for a regional bid in Springfield Glendale High School. Participants are Ardell 112 Boyd 119 Rogers 126 Smith 138 Worstell 167 Denham unlimited with Buresh at 98 Hodges 185 and Sewell 105 Miller 145 Hake 155 as third and fourth place finishers noted.

Mexico Freshmen Rally To Extend Winning Streak
The Mexico Bulldogs, ranked, beat Springfield Hillcrest 71-46 and Hannibal Pirates to claim a 19-2 record. Freshmen Thoenen led scoring with 18, while Dennis White and Rink Williams added 11 each. The Frosh also topped Moberly 57-52 to run their win streak to three and reach 10-10 on the season.

Rex Hein, a 1966 Rockhurst High graduate and former Kansas City Royals signee, joins Mexico High as a freshman coach and world history teacher. He played three seasons with the Royals, earned a Missouri education degree, and moved to Mexico with wife Kathy and daughter Joelle.
