Hamlett Reports House Bill Actions in Missouri
Rep. Ray Hamlett of Laddonia says the House Transportation Committee took up measures to require metrics on state highway signs and to divert 1 percent of highway funds to OATS, opposed by highway chief Robert Hunter who warned of a 1.6 million dollar fund reduction. The session also advanced bills on beef purchases, a tax revenue study commission, tax levy limits, and multi year license plates. A crime report bill backed by Col. Sam Smith would require monthly and yearly crime reports from all law enforcement agencies. House Joint Resolution No. 56, on third reading, would limit bond resubmissions within 12 months unless defeated by less than 5 percent, subject to public vote.
