Danforth to file anti-trust suit against big three
Missouri Attorney General John C. Danforth said he will file a class action anti-trust suit against General Motors Ford Motor Chrysler over fleet sales to the state and subdivisions. The suit seeks treble damages and an injunction to halt alleged price fixing and noncompetitive bids after patrol bids and state bids showed higher prices. Assistant AG Wayne Hoecker noted that GM and Ford ceased competing for government fleet sales last May, reducing savings that once benefited the state and its local units.

Home Looted in Teal Lake Road Burglary
A south edge Mexico home was ransacked over the weekend as thieves searched for cash and valuables. Mr and Mrs Harold Bosley returned to Teal Lake Road outside city limits to broken glass and dumped belongings. Estimated losses include $600 to $700 in cash, a derringer, and other items. Thieves pried doors, smashed a curved glass front, and disturbed drawers and cabinets. Some items from the Bosleys Corral Western Shop bank bag were taken along with a coin collection and antique glassware. New holiday candles were moved during the raid. The scene reflects a December burglary spike in the area.
