Citizens Savings Opens Missouri First Mobile Savings Unit
Missouri’s first savings and loan mobile facility, operated by Citizens Savings Association, dedicated in Jefferson City with state supervisor Jack Bundy and league secretary Robert Carroll assisting. The 8 by 40 foot unit will tour Brunswick Clarence Glasgow and Paris weekly, with home base in Moberly, serving towns without local savings offices and those beyond a 10 mile radius. The bus accommodates offices, teller desk, bath and kitchen, and will operate daily 9 to 4, then 9 to 5 on display in Mexico Wednesday.

The new venture will operate with the Massey Ferguson farm implement business on part of the old county farm property. The stock will be housed under roof outside city limits for safety and weather protection. Sales force includes Mr. Smith Lewis Brooks Sr and Bill Walker. Three experienced mechanics Earl Barnes Wimmy Jones and Claude Peck join the staff. Formerly with Bock Motors Ty Cobb Dodge and Hildebrand Motors, John Hildebrand ends his Chrysler franchise at the Hunt and Moser site next to Gilmore Implement Co.
