GM Callback Will Restore 3500 Jobs
GM will add second shifts at Fremont California and Leeds Missouri plants early next year to meet rising demand. About 3,500 workers will be recalled from indefinite layoff to work the shifts, with total recalls reaching 5,700 at three plants by March 1. Production goals for 1976 rise by 33,000 units to 1,250,000.
