Mummified Cowboy Found in Long Beach Fun House
A mummified body believed to be outlaw Bill McCurdy was used as a carnival sideshow prop and as security for a $500 loan. The mummy, once tied to a 1911 train robbery near Okesa Oklahoma, was discovered during a The Six Million Dollar Man filming in a Long Beach fun house. Autopsy revealed a copper jacketed bullet in the stomach and identification traced through carnival sales. The fate of the body traces from 1921 loan collateral to display in wax museums and amusement parks before the discovery.
