Peace Symbol To Stay Atop National Tree

Despite a call to replace the atom symbol with a star, officials say there is no plan to change the ornament or its design since 1964, as the tree and its 8,000 lights on the main tree plus 8,000 more on smaller trees symbolize peace and national unity.
