Eight Mexico Doctors Move Practices To Summit Park
Eight local doctors from multiple specialties shifted into new offices at the Mexico Professional Building and Summit Medical Park. The 12,924 square foot complex on Summit Street east of North Craig opened with a shared waiting room for three doctors and individual offices for the rest, plus a pharmacy, lab, and X-ray facilities. The building plans allow expansion to 15,000 square feet and parking for 105 cars. The veteran doctors have long ties to St. Louis and Mexico with several arriving in the 1950s and 1960s, and the newest recruit arriving after 1973.

Decreased Electric Rates Soon For Many Missourians
Jefferson City Missouri AP reports electric rate cuts coming for about one million customers as long range construction charges are removed. Compromises filed with the Public Service Commission promise an eight cent monthly drop for Union Electric and sixty two cents for KCP&L. St Joseph Light & Power negotiates toward a settlement with expected relief between 90 cents and $1. PSC must approve before implementation under a November 2 voter approved law banning prepaid today charges until power starts generation.
