In Beirut AP reports Saudi Arabia and four American oil firms have reached a basic agreement to sell the 40 percent stake in Arabian American Oil Co to Saudi Arabia. The Saudis would pay about $1.5 billion plus the $500 million already paid two years ago for 25 percent. The four companies are Standard of California Texaco Exxon and Mobil.

Gunman Kills Blind Vendor At Newsstand
In Detroit a blind newspaper and concession vendor Clifford Burrill was shot three times at point blank range and died two hours later. The 25 year veteran, who had earned a 140 bowling average, was attacked after closing his stand with about $300 in receipts. Police traced the gunman’s path in the snow to a vacant home and detained two youths for investigation.

Postal Service Seeks Another Stamp Increase Next July

Bargain Air Fares Proposed For ’75
United Air Lines and Trans World Airlines propose bargain domestic fares to boost family travel.
