Sunrise Christian Church members of the Cheerful Workers organize a December 3 6 p.m. holiday supper at Hi Way R 3 School and a 7 p.m. Christmas Fellowship at Kentucky Road Christian Church. Qilters donated two quilts for a Mexico family and various church members attend.
Shrine members welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lemon as new members during a Monday initiation. Attendees from Columbia and Moberly included Walter Reed and the Mobleys assisting. The 31st anniversary was celebrated with five charter members present led by Mrs. Gordon Gilman as first Worthy High Priestess Helen LeCount read “It’s Our Anniversary.” A social hour followed with cake and snacks served by local volunteers.
The Mexico Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meets Monday at 1 30 p m at the Audrain County Historical Museum for a historic program with the theme Joy to the World the Lord is Come A Christmas musical will be performed by members of the Abbie Llewellen Snoddy Music Club Mrs Denver Hudson will present the National Defense Report and chapter regent Mrs F M Maupin will run the business session Members are asked to bring gifts for veterans Hostesses are Mrs Gayle S Oller Mrs J A Pearson Mrs J F Covington Mrs J R Eckenberger Miss Marsena Johnson and Mrs Howard Richards
The Busy Beavers 4-H Club held at the 4-H Center with 23 members and 14 visitors. Merrilea Hunt demonstrated garnishes for different foods while Charlene Isgiig explained 4-H purposes. Next meeting set for Dec 13 at the 4-H Center will be a Christmas Party with carry-in supper at 6 p.m. Club provides meat bread and drinks. attendees bring a covered dish and a salad or dessert. Games and refreshments followed.
Clay Austin Chad Colley Judy Allen and Patricia Belcher led a skit at the MG D Doers 4 H Club meeting to explain the meaning of 4 H. Pledges were led by Clay Austin and business reports were given by other members. Members received certificates of membership for participation. honors were awarded across first through fourth years to several members including Sheri Palmer Penny Henderson Kenna Weber Lon Fisher Cynthia Williams Judy Allen Patricia Clay Gay Gooch Liz Piper Russell Runge Clifford Williams Crystal Johnson Chad Colley John Allen Ann Beauchamp Victor Davis Charles Johnson Nancy Piper Sara Smarr Sandy Trout Tina Williams.
