Mexico Evening School enrolls 29 classes for fall

Mexico Evening School opens enrollment Monday night September 26 for 29 courses plus five college credit classes at Mexico Community College. Courses range from antique clock and watch repair to upholstery and income taxes, with fees from 6 to 30 dollars and limited enrollments. College courses offered by William Woods and Westminster Colleges begin September 6 with classes in the Mexico Senior High School library.

Tax Credit Or Deduction For Campaign Gifts Dealt With By CPAs

Missouri CPAs explain that voters may claim a credit equal to half of a political contribution up to 12.50 on a single return or 25 on a joint return, or deduct the full amount up to 50 or 100 jointly. Unemployment Drops in Missouri in July

Missouri's jobless rate fell from 6.1% in June to 5.4% in July. Employment Security Division Director Herman Julien reported a decline of 17,100 in unemployment and 26,600 fewer people in the labor force. Total employed reached 1,974,000, with agricultural gains of 6% offsetting a 22,900 drop in nonfarm workers. Manufacturing trimmed 2.7% due largely to auto model change layoffs.
