Rent Farm To Become Women's Pen In Missouri Plan
Missouri corrections moves to transfer all female inmates from Tipton to Renz Farm north of Jefferson City within about 60 days. About 50 men will remain at Renz for farming and maintenance. The move aims to relieve Tipton overcrowding as the state’s female inmate total more than doubles to 150. Renz Farm could house up to 200 and will undergo $60,000 in remodeling for new custody levels, with 19 women guards planned for close custody dorms and tighter supervision.
