Government wage price freeze seen needing public cooperation
Francis X Tobin, new wage price program director for the Office of Emergency Preparedness, said decisions on creating local satellite stations will be made in Washington by weekend. In Kansas City four to five offices could exist around the four-state area, with a 10 line telephone setup to handle questions as the program unfolds. Tobin stressed voluntary support, noted no first-day violations, and warned retroactive pay raises are unlikely. He hopes to wrap the 90 day program by November 12.
